Current Position

Machine Shop Supervisor and Manager

We have immediate requirements for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor and Site Manager for an established design and fabrication contracting company based in South East Asia.

The positions are as follows:

1) Site Manager:

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Company's site services operations at two (2) sites located at a world class mining operation.
  • Liaising with customers on all issues relating to the operation of the site and other divisions within the Company.
  • Managing site activities to achieve all parameters set in the budget, especially in relation to manpower and other resource utilisation.
  • Identifying work opportunities at site and developing the same together with the Commercial Superintendent.
  • Training and development of a Citizen successor and workforce.
  • Achieving sales, operating profit and EBITDA set in the budget.

    It is essential that applicants possess extensive experience in the following:
  • General welding processes including FCAW and GMAW.
  • Machining process including line boring operation.
  • Failure analysis and metallurgy.
  • Experience in estimating jobs for the repair work of mine site mobile equipment.
  • Familiar with Caterpillar repair procedures and systems.
  • Trade qualifications in Boilermaking with a minimum of five (5) years experience at a managerial/superintendent level.

    Previous offshore experience would be an advantage.

    2) Machine Shop Supervisor:

    The successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Liaising with customers on all issues relating to the operation of the machine shop.
  • Managing machine shop activities to achieve all parameters set in the budget, especially in relation to quality, turn around time and resource utilisation.
  • Training and development of a Citizen successor and workforce.

    It is essential that applicants have extensive experience in the following:
  • General welding processes including FCAW and GMAW.
  • Machining processes including turning, milling, honing, horizontal boring, radial drilling and other general machining.
  • Failure analysis and metallurgy.
  • Caterpillar repair procedures and systems.
  • Trade qualifications in Machining with a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience.
  • Estimating experience for machining work of mine site mobile equipment.

    Previous offshore experience would be an advantage.
