Aviation Coordinators
We have an immediate requirement for experienced Aviation Coordinators to fill two (2) fly in, fly out roster cycle contracts in Papua New Guinea.
The successful candidates will supervise a team of aviation staff and contractors supporting remote area aviation operations.
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Scheduling, dispatching and distribution of schedules for contracted helicopters and airplanes on a daily basis, ensuring the efficient use of resources. Overseeing daily contracted aircraft Operators in the Project area. Monitoring contracted aircraft Operator compliance with contract requirements and setting up and running weekly/monthly safety meetings. Conducting routine inspections of helicopters for cleanliness etc. Ensuring safety briefing of all passengers is complied with and documented. Overseeing passenger operations and compliance with all Company's policies. Coordinating with flight followers and monitoring proper flight following practices. Coordinating medivacs for helicopters and airplanes. Carrying out annual helipad and airstrip inspections. Overseeing and supervising activities of contract coordination staff. Monitoring Company's aviation assets at remote sites. Ensuring all Company Pax handling facilities are kept in a high state of cleanliness. Monitoring compliance with dangerous goods regulations at airports and helipads. Monitoring and reporting as necessary on changes of status of operability of airports and helipads. Responding with follow-up action until closure on any aircraft operator hazard reports. Participating as the immediate on-site Aviation Coordinator for Emergency Response Plan (ERP) activation or drills. Keeping radio/telephone logs and as necessary activating ERP checklists. Interfacing with Security, Safety, Project and other functions on an 'as needs' basis. Interfacing with other Operators regarding fixed wing flights, fuel and any additional requirements deemed necessary. Reporting any incidents immediately, investigating and filling out the incident report. Carrying out and documenting random spot checks of fuel systems and refuelling operations for compliance with company guidelines, minimum of one time per month at each facility. Attending weekly Aviation meetings held by all Operators and reporting any issues. Meeting with other Operators' Aviation Team on a weekly basis to discuss any issues and reporting the issues. Following up on all fuel stocks and usage for each of the Company fuel sites and providing daily, weekly and monthly reports indicating quantity on order, expected delivery date and summary of quantities on hand. Ensuring all procedures for refuelling are being met by contracted aircraft Operators. Interfacing with Travel Team to ensure efficiencies of flights. Ensuring all security requirements are met at all Pax handling facilities operated by Company. Interfacing with Transport and other departments as required.
It is expected that applicants will possess the following: A broad knowledge of aviation operations, preferably with a minimum of ten (10) years experience in a diverse technical/operational air management role. Proven leadership and personnel management skills, with a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience. Knowledge of aviation industry contacts in Papua New Guinea. Prior multi-cultural international experience in a developing country. Knowledge of aviation maintenance requirements and practices. Familitary with onshore and offshore helicopter operations and airplane flight operations. Knowledge and experience with remote helipad and airstrip design and operations. Familiarity with flight crew currency and qualification requirements. Ability to write and present technical industry reports. Computer literate with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It is expected that appilcants will possess or have the ability to rapidly acquire up to date knowledge of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Papua New Guinean Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations.
